Las Rebeldes Group's story

Among the quirks of a certain Oaxacan community, is the burning of sugar cane at night which offers a unique landscape. At the same time, there are the Carambola trees, whose fruit is in the shape of a star and has a flavor in-between sweet and sour. On the weekends, the families are known to go to the community rivers to be able to cool off and spend some pleasurable moments in the company of those they love.

"Las Rebeldes" is a group from this community and its members are: Petra, who will invest into raising pigs; María Irene, in shoes; Guadalupe, tamales; Laura, soft drinks; María De Jesús, dishes; Verónica, traditional foods; Maricela, vegetables; Paulina, vegetables, recycling, piñatas and floral arrangements; and Aurelia, carpentry.

Paulina is a very hardworking and committed woman to the development of her children. "Now I will work harder than before to continue offering my children a better quality of life," are her words. With the goal of giving her family a better quality of life, she started selling vegetables and had previously started selling chicken, always working side-by-side with her husband. "My main motivation is my family. To count on my husband's support in the business and grow together in the job motivates me to give my best every day," she said happily.

Her business has had considerable success and now she wants to increase her production and offer a better variety of products. The earnings she has gotten have allowed her to give her children an education, renovate her house and get a shop. With the loan opportunity, she wants to buy more merchandise, like chicken and vegetables, because the customers trust in her store to get all of the ingredients that are involved in making their foods.
