A loan helped provide more nonprofits with the tools they need to measure their impact.

Jessica's story

I am a researcher and data strategist by trade and have spent the last 10 years working for government, educational institutions and non-profits helping them tell the story of their work. Because of that, I've seen some really tough things in my work with foster kids, in gang reduction, and helping homeless agencies. I know firsthand how important it is to use research as a way to witness and to tell the story of the good work being done by non-profits in my community. Evaluation services are a key component to bridge the gap between data and anecdote in order to create a powerful story for non-profits to make their case. I'm a better researcher and entrepreneur for having spent so much time with the communities I'm trying to help, so I know the importance of supporting non-profits and organizations that are doing specific work in their local communities. My dream is simple. I'm an idealist and I want to live and work up to my own potential to create positive social change by helping organizations measure their outcomes and achieve their missions. I started Mockingbird Analytics because I wanted to help more organizations, especially small and new non-profits, access research and evaluation services that would otherwise be out of reach in terms of capacity and budget.
