Gabriel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped purchase the equipment necessary to start my new business.

Gabriel's story

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to a teacher/poet mother and musician father. I came to live in Berkeley at the age of five. Throughout the eighties I was deeply into music and spent a lot of time recording my favorite songs from the radio. By the time I got to high school I began collecting records, and soon after, DJjing parties and special events. This love of music led me to own and operate a vinyl record store called Funky Riddms Records from 2000 to 2005. I still sell hard-to-find records from my online shop. Since the time I stopped having a physical store I sold my mix CDs from a 3-wheeled dj sound system I customized from an ice cream trike. I have taken this trike, called the Funky Riddms Vibecycle, to many festivals and special events all around Northern California and have sold various mixes, hand selected CDs & t-shirts that I designed. I've been doing this for ten years now. This past summer I tried something new. I started selling cold coconut water and had instant success. After only a few times doing this I realized there was a lot of potential in offering healthy drinks from my mobile sound station and I began to formulate plans for a new 3-wheel sound system and a new business model.
