Brent's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped accommodate my immediate financial needs required to move into a larger manufacturing facility by June 15th.

Brent's story

I was born and raised in Western Kentucky. I was the 4th generation in the same square mile surrounded by rural farming and church community. My dad bought a farm and built a house across from his dad's farm. This provided a strong foundation for me learning about mechanics, construction, maintenance and hard work. I picked tomatoes on a farm and did construction to pay cash for my first car when I turned 16. I ran cross-country and track in high school and won 3 state titles. I received a academic and athletic track scholarship to the University of Louisville. My first summer job after my freshmen year of college was with Vector Marketing doing direct sales for CUTCO Cutlery. I finished 52nd place out of over 30,000 student sales associates. I moved to South Florida in 2000, where I started crewing, maintaining, and delivering yachts for the next 5 years all over North America. During this time I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and discovered many new horizons that led me to change my overall attitude, lifestyle, and core purpose. I was drawn towards geometry, sound, permaculture, green building and nutrition in particular. My focus changed to making a difference versus make a dollar. One day I was at a summer fair in Northern California. I was listening to one of the featured speakers who happened to be an expert on nutrition. He spoke about the benefits of dark chocolate and how it can be combined with other ingredients for health benefits. I started experimenting and making tasty recipes inspired by his suggestions. I shared my chocolate confections with friends and they suggested I go into business wholesaling my chocolate treats. Three years later I was in nearly 40 retail outlets with my original company called Holy Cacao Immaculate Confections. Since then I've evolved my passion into a business called Cocoa Logos that manufactures chocolate for others, be it co-packing services for existing chocolate companies or private labeling options for individuals and businesses. This means I can put your business on an healthy organic chocolate product if so desired (wink wink). As the founder and chief chocolatier of Cocoa Logos, I have over 10 years and 10,000 hours of chocolate making experience. Fair trade, clean ingredient sourcing, quality of service, and delicious taste profiles are all paramount foundations in my commitment to the success of this company.
