Lisa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped pay for licensing, marketing, and web development needed to offer quality services for my clients.

Lisa's story

I grew up in Detroit, Michigan. I am the youngest of three siblings. I had a beautiful childhood and was raised by my mother. My mother was a Eastern Star of the maternal order of Priscilla Chapter #32. Throughout my childhood, I had the opportunity to visit many places within the U.S. and meet numerous celebrities. After I graduated from high school my dreams were to become an interior decorator but I had to let that dream go because it was too costly for me to attend. So, I returned home from California and attended beauty school where I worked in the field for over 20 years. While doing hair, I knew I had to make changes within my life that would provide for me later, so I was inspired by a friend to become a special education teacher. I attended the University of Detroit Mercy where I obtained my B.A. in Science and my M.A. in Counseling. I started teaching with Detroit Public Schools and stayed for nine years until I was laid-off. Throughout my lay off, my mother turned very ill which gave me the opportunity to spend time with her throughout her last days here on earth. My mother was my greatest inspiration. She gave me my abilities to lead, learn and grow which lead to my decision to open my own establishment. Today, I am the owner of the Enhanced Transition Center.
