Joshua's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy repair equipment to convert my business from being a lucrative side job to an actual full source of income.

Joshua's story

I grew up in Portland, Oregon as the only child of a single mom. I remember times being tight as a child, and my mom always worked as hard as necessary to ensure that I had whatever I needed. We didn't get to go on vacations, and my first trip to Disneyland didn't happen until I could pay for it myself. Because of my upbringing, I value work ethic and honesty above almost everything else as the measure of a person, and I am constantly annoyed when people conduct themselves with an air of entitlement. Currently I have a full time job working for one of the top Fortune 500 companies, which I really like. But, ultimately, I want to be in charge of my own future. Growing my business is the path to taking complete control of my future and gaining the independence to choose where things take me. One of the things that drives me to repair small electronics is the cost in natural resources for producing these amazing devices. It is so much better to give a damaged device a second "lease on life" than to simply dispose of it. To that end, I have even saved all of the broken screens that I have replaced so that when I have the right equipment, I can bond new glass to the working LCDs!
