Nelson's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped upgrade my landscape equipment and double productivity.
My name is Nelson Lopez, and I'm from a small town called Chalatenango in El Salvador. My six siblings and I grew up there, and I was always the mischievous one until I came to the United States at 16 years old and learned fast that I had to work really hard. From the time I arrived, I juggled at least two jobs at once. I mostly worked in iron and steel during the week and landscape on the weekends. I worked and saved as much as I could and was able to help two of my sisters and my mother to join me in the U.S., become residents, and have a much better quality of life. When I was 24, I started operating the landscape business on my own. My sister, whose English is even better than mine, helps me to answer the phone and schedule landscape appointments with clients. My goal is to grow the business enough so that I can pay her to work with me full time. I'm currently enrolled in high school at night and hope to graduate soon. I'm working on building my credit score and took out my first credit card recently which I am handling with great care. I also have a three year old son who I adore and who is my inspiration to make the business grow.
