A loan helped purchase glass entry doors and signage for our business.
I grew up in a small town northeast of Pittsburgh. After traveling the country, I landed back in Natrona, PA, which is sandwiched between two working steel mills along the Allegheny river. My wife Aasta and I came back to Allegheny county to raise a family and pursue our art. My roots in the areago back more than 150 years to a great-great grandfather that started Pittsburgh Brewing in Lawrenceville in 1866. He had a dream of bringing the family back to the Lawrenceville area, but not with brewing. For the past 20 years I've worked as a potter, teacher, studio technician and manager in many ceramic studios. Aasta, an artist as well, has worked in her family business, designing and printing for the quilting industry. We each hold a M.F.A from Indiana University of PA and a strong connection to the art community in Pittsburgh. Our love for making and teaching along with a strong family connection is what has motivated us to open a teaching studio for Ceramics in Lawrenceville. With this studio, we want to create a vibrant ceramics community here in Pittsburgh.
