Joyce's story

I was born in Nyeri town in a family of four children and I am the first born.I started my education and joined Githwariga primary but later transfered to Itundu primary in rural home because my parents were having economic dificulties keeping in the town. I later joined Kiamaina secondary where I comleted my O-level. I did not do well in school since many times I was at home due to lack of school fees. However that was not to dim my desire to follow my dream which to be a self-reliant person and be successive in life. I am helping my younger sister who lives with me to have a better life than I had. I am also living with my nephew whose mother went to Lebanon. I am planning that one day I shall own a shop for dressmaking where I will be selling clothes according to the taste of the customer. Since I left high school I have never asked for money from my parents I worked as a waitress ina small resturant and when I got enough money to buy secondhand clothes I quit and started my business.
