Marie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped promote my work through various art focused trade shows, retail shows, and web pages and to purchase raw materials to build inventory for sales, repair my existing equipment, and expand my product line.

Marie's story

I have a degree in design and have worked in interior and architectural design for many years. Being an innovative and hands-on designer, designing furniture and new products has always been a part of my work. If I had the opportunity and client requests to inject handmade ceramic tiles, mosaics, or customize furniture into a project, I would. Over time, I began to contract less in the corporate world and spend more time focusing on my two children and their activities. This transition shifted my professional energies and interest to ceramic arts, and I began sculpting and painting clay. Over time I've developed a wonderful serve-ware line and also co-developed an eco-friendly wall finish with my husband that I use as an art medium as well. I sell my work at small local art shows, a few art gallery retailers, fine gift and jewelry shops, and recently an Etsy shop. The sales are encouraging! It is my goal to expand sales and build a stronger business. I feel very passionate about my work and enjoy the challenge of growing my company to support new employment opportunities as well. I get a great deal of satisfaction from the positive customer responses and the knowledge that what I'm doing is creating good energy.
