Blanca's story

My name is Blanca Labrada and I’m an immigrant from Mexico who came to San Francisco 7 years ago with a dream as many come from Latin America. I grew up in a very low income family, but with my parents' example of hard work and desire to achieve my goal to be an independent women and attain a better future for myself and my family. I am a jewelry artist that specializes in custom design. I enjoy what I do because I design jewelry with passion, and I feel empowered when my clients express love for my work, especially when I talk to them about the emotional, physical, and spiritual energy crystals carry with them. From early childhood, I was visually inspired by jewels and crystals. I remember that I was 8 years old when I started making my own necklace and bracelet designs with pasta soup. I colored them and sold them to my friends at school. When I came to San Francisco I started looking for the perfect job that would satisfy my lifelong dream. With God’s blessing and the support of my husband, I registered my business with the city and I started selling my designs from home. Later, I got a license as a jewelry artist and started selling as a street vendor at Fisherman’s Wharf. In April 2012 I opened my store in Plaza del Sol, 2435 Mission St. Suite #3, San Francisco. My business is open 6 days a week from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Come in and fall in love with my designs! Patronage is always welcome.
