Rehana's Group's story
Rehana is a 38-year-old woman, living with her one son and one daughter in the area of Multan, Pakistan. In the photo, Rehana is the lady who is raising her hand; the other is Riffat. Rehana’s husband is responsible for fulfilling the needs of the entire family, but Rehana has been running an embroidery business for nine years to meet other expenses. Her native language is Punjabi, which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in a rented room made of brick that has drinking water, electricity, and plumbing. Rehana's embroidery business is very famous in the area, and that is the reason her business runs well. Due to good relations her business has increased. Rehana wants to meet the demand for bridal dresses. That is why she wants to buy thread, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colours in advance, to have in stock. She requires some capital to buy the desired items but does not have sufficient cash on hand. The challenge Rehana is facing is to have sufficient capital to run the business and to be able support her family in its present form. Therefore, Rehana humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan. Through this loan, she will be able to buy the thread, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colours that she needs. Rehana and her family will be thankful to KIVA, its lenders, and field partner BRAC Pakistan for helping them by funding this loan to improve their living standard.
