Vimbanai Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy materials for clothes and materials for welding for sliding gates and braai stands.

Vimbanai Group's story

Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts. Gloria is a very committed lady who lost her husband long back, but she has seen all her children completing school from the work of her own hands. Gloria is a tailor by profession and does cross border trading as an additional source of income. Gloria also does welding; she is being assisted by her son who is the best welder in the area. She is a 58-year-old, mother of 8 children.

Gloria experienced challenges in the business of welding and tailoring where customers came with no deposits but with their orders, only to pay after completion of work. This meant that sometimes she had no cash to restock in advance and occasionally has had to turn her loyal customers back because she will not have enough money to by materials.

Gloria is a member of Vimbanai group a name that simply means, “being faithful.” The group members share the same religious background and they have proved to be honest to each other for a long time. Gloria wants to buy materials for clothes and materials for welding for sliding gates and braai stands.

Gloria was very happy with the training at Thrive microfinance. She learnt about good and bad borrowing and she was happy about good uses of a loan. Gloria hopes to tell other women entrepreneurs about Thrive microfinance.
