Tumaini Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more kilos of rice, beans, wheat flour, and other ingredients for her food stall.

Tumaini Group's story

Liliani is a 50-year-old married mother with four children. She owns a food vending business, famously known as "Mama-Lishe" in Swahili, and she has been in this business for more than two decades. She normally opens her food stall at 8 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. every working day, and she's happy that she is making some great monthly profit.

This will be her ninth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loan as capital for restocking and upgrading her facilities to improve her food stall. She is now happy that she has managed to pay back all of her previous credits, and she really appreciates Kiva for the maximum support given to her loan group, Tumaini Group, which is doing great as well.

Liliani used some of her profit to cover household expenses and to pay school fees for her daughters. She applied for this loan to buy more kilos of rice, beans, wheat flour, and other ingredients for her food stall. She dreams of growing it into a restaurant someday. She will share this loan with her fellow group members as they will be accountable for paying back the loan in full at maturity.
