Concepcion's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to put a roof on her house and finally have an indoor kitchen and laundry.

Concepcion's story

Concepcion has been living in her house in Xochimilco for the last 20 years. She sells sweets and other mexican treats at the central plaza of Xochimilco. She is quite well known amongst neighbors for her tasty treats. Concepcion has been saving for the last couple of years so she can finally build a roof over her laundry machine and area, which you can see in the picture, and her kitchen. She feels the investment she has made on these expensive house appliances is at great risk out in the open. She also wishes to remove the tin roof and install a proper roof. This will make her nights more comfortable, especially when it is raining or very hot. Concepcion has an informal ob so asking for a credit from other institutions is not viable. She will receive technical assitance to ensure that the construction meets all quality and safety standards. Concepcion is excited to have a new possibility of materializing her dream. She says she is not getting younger and every day is harder to bare the weather changes with a tin roof and outside kitchen, but this new opportunity will revitalize her in new ways.
