A loan helped to make his own workshop for metal and concrete fences.

Tornike's story

Tornike is a 39-year-old married man from Kutaisi. He has a wife who gets a stable income of 400 GEL, a school-aged son, father-in-law and brother-in-law. Tornike was unable to find any stable job, in spite of his high education. Now he decided to make a private source of income and open his own workshop. He lacks the access to capital markets and financial institutions to obtain credit for starting a business, as they require stable income and business experience. The Startup program created by Kiva and Credo enabled Tornike to get a loan of 3,000 GEL and purchase all the needed equipment for his workshop. Tornike will start making concrete fences and metal tinplate and sell locally at a good price.

The Start Up loan will be a great support for the family, as their income will be significantly increased. Regarding Kiva Lenders. Tornike awaits support and kindness.
