A loan helped to buy wood and tools to make handicrafts.

Santa Rosa De Proboste Group's story

Andreyna is a 19-year-old young woman. She is single, and has a 1-year-old child and a business selling handicrafts.

She is young and a visionary. She thinks that she has a long road to traverse, and her child's heartbeat compels her to search for new paths. She carries out her business in the community of Cotoca, a rural area that collects the area's agricultural production to redistribute to the city's markets.

Andreyna has a tan complexion, jet black hair, and a lovely gaze (in the center, dressed in a white shirt and light blue Bermuda shorts). Her mother tongue is part of the ancestral heritage she preserves and forgets little by little, only practicing it with Guarani family at patron saint festivals.

She lives her life in a home owned by her parents, which is built out of wood with a cement floor and has electric energy. There is no drinkable water or sewage system in this place.

The desire to improve her business brought her to lead the entrepreneurship bank. The members' businesses are: traditional food sales, sugar molasses sales, traditional baked goods sales, kebab sales, moto-taxi services, used clothing sales, jelly sales, and a beauty salon.

Her business it the production and sale of handicrafts, a business she began at 12 years old when she left school and earned a living exclusively at work. She has a permanent sales stand on the street in the open air. She sells coasters, key chains, pens with carved wooden covers, ashtrays, souvenirs, etc. She carries out production at home together with her parents who earn a living in the same business. She also weaves palm hats and makes other work with that material. "I sell all types of handicrafts related to the town, some from wood, others with palm fibers, and also from ceramics," she says.

Her business is successful because the visitors that pass through the town buy her handicrafts. Her business' advantage is that she has orders and her work is recognized in the area. Her disadvantage is the price increase of her work materials.

Her dream is to open a store under a roof and to sell wholesale. She wants to buy work material such as palms, wood, and tools. This is this first sequence of loans with the institution in 7 years of earning a living in this business.

It is due to these motives that Andreyna is requesting a loan in order to buy wood and tools to produce handicrafts.
