A loan helped to pay the rent for some land on which she will develop her farming activities.
Savet Group's story
A resident from Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, Savet is 40 years old and a mother of four dependent children. Her main sources of income, from which she can support her family’s living, are cassava growing and working as a laborer for others. She has been with her cassava farm about ten years. Her husband, 41, is a farmer too. Two of her children are construction workers while the other two are attending school. Together, they can make around 15 USD each day. Savet is pictured first from the right. She is the group leader and would like to request a loan as part of a group of five members. She will use her portion to pay the rent for some land on which she will develop her farming activities. This loan will help her improve her income as well as her family's standard of living. For her future plans, she is going to buy more farmland, support her youngest children to achieve a higher education, and save money to build a bigger house.
