A loan helped to cover higher education expenses.

Paloma's story

Paloma is a medical student. She is requesting a loan to be able to cover her educational expenses. This is her story: My name is Paloma. I am 18 years old. I live in Puerto Plata, the same city where I was born and grew up with my parents and my brother. I am single, and I have no children. My mother works as a cashier. My father drives a moto taxi here in the city. I study at Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA). I have been studying medicine for two years. I am in my seventh quarter. I started to like the profession when I began doing social work for my community at a primary care center. I have studied around 50 subjects. Among the ones that have drawn my attention most are Social Medicine, Biology I, Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology, among others that are very interesting. This loan is very necessary for me because, without it, I would have to suspend my studies for a period of time because of the financial situation. I want to graduate in medicine and then specialize in pulmonology, get a job, and develop myself as an excellent doctor.
