A loan helped to buy one ox.

Kene Bougoul's Group's story

This group is part of the Banc Villageois that was established in June 2002. It regroups seven very energetic women who are small traders and raise livestock. KENE, the featured borrower, is the woman standing on the right in the photograph, with her hand raised. She's 44 years old, married, and the mother of three children. Her business consists in raising livestock. She has lots of experience in this field and always repays her loans without problems. She intends to use her new loan to buy one ox in the markets close to her village, in order to fatten it and resell it four or five months later in the same markets. The profits will be divided up between covering family expenses and putting money away in the Banc Villageois in order to buy more oxen.
