Sukanti And Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more stock to add to her inventory and expand her grocery store business.

Sukanti And Group's story

Sukanti is a 42-year-old female entrepreneur and mother of two children, a son and a daughter. She hails from the Khurda district of Odisha, Eastern India. Her family of four subsists on a monthly income of Rs.10,000 out of which Sukanti herself contributes Rs.3,000 through her own grocery store enterprise where she sells rice, wheat, lentils, oils, sugar and other locally sought items.

With business going smoothly, this enterprising lady has decided to take on the challenge of scaling up her business. She would like to sell more products in her store, but in order to do so, she needs to expand her inventory. Sukanti will then be able to stock greater variety of items and in larger quantities.

However, given the monthly savings of the family, making a big purchase is nearly impossible. To this end, she has come together with nine other spirited ladies and applied for a loan (as part of a group) of Rs.127,000 to expand their respective businesses from Milaap's partner, Swayamshree.

With this loan, Sukanti will be able to earn more from her business and live a more comfortable lifestyle. An expected extra Rs.3,000 earned each month will go a long way in improving her standard of living. Similarly, the other women of this group will also enjoy a better life through increased earnings.
