Karina Lilia's story
Karina is 26 years old. She is in a common-law relationship and has two children, ages 8 years and 14 months. Her partner works in fishing and trade. She lives in the city of Puerto López, Manabí province. This area was greatly affected by the earthquake this past April 16, 2016, which destroyed a large part of the province and its economy at the same time. She has been in the Mujeres Con Éxito [Successful Women] credit group for a year. Karina is very hardworking. She helps her partner to get ahead. She sells clothing, going out to make sales door-to-door as well as in her home. She also makes breakfasts and lunches to deliver. Right now with the crisis caused by the earthquake, she doesn’t have capital. She needs help to continue with her business, meet the basic needs of her family, and achieve a respectable life. This loan is to buy clothing and groceries for making her meals. She wants to give the best to her children.
