Sagrado Corazón Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase first-rate thread, fasteners, buttons, blouses, huaraches, and to pay the deposit on the retail space.

Sagrado Corazón Group's story

In Oaxaca, there is a municipality where the majority of the inhabitants work in the fields and, on the weekends, the families tend to go to the rivers in the community to refresh themselves and spend a pleasant time. These rivers still are crystal clear and fresh since the people are very clean and respectful.

In this municipality, a group called "Sagrado Corazón" was formed, whose members are Mayra and Alma, who will invest in internet service; Delfina, clothing; Paula, stationery; Virginia, hammocks, blouses, bags, and shoes; Mónica, in cosmetics; Dulce, in traditional food, and María in piñatas and internet service.

Virginia is a woman who feels full with her family and work, "We are happy waiting for the new member of the family, my two sons want it to to be a boy, and my daughter wants it to be a girl," she says enthusiastically. Viky, as she is known in the community, has worked for nine years making and selling hammocks, cots, armchairs, etc., since she went to certain workshops where she learned in a more detailed way. "What was at the beginning difficult for me, now is very easy," she mentioned with a big smile.

Thanks to her excellent technique, she has managed to generate a steady customer base which recommend her to their acquaintances. For example, to weave the hammocks, she sets up a big loom and takes three to seven days, depending on the piece and the material. On the other hand, for her each one of the loans has allowed her the constant growth of her business. "Many people weave hammocks and they are based on the size, but it is ideal to work with passion," she said.

The loan would help her to invest in the purchase of thread, fasteners, buttons, blouses, huaraches, and to pay rent, "I am grateful to those who have made this new loan possible and the partners who motivate us," she ended.
