A loan helped to buy cows to fatten and breed for calves to sell.
Sarem Group's story
Sarem is 40 years old, a married mother with three children in her care. She is a rice farmer and fattens animals. Sarem has been cultivating rice and involved in animal husbandry since 1990. Her teenager is a factory worker, while the other two children are in school. They all live in Takeo province, Cambodia. All of them can earn approximately $13 per day. Sarem, pictured first from the right, is the group leader, and she would like to request a loan as part of a group of four members. She will use her portion to buy cows to fatten and breed for calves to sell. This loan will help her earn more income to support her family. In the future, Sarem is going to increase her farming, save money to renovate her house, and support her children to go to university.
