Marta Elizabeth's story

Marta went to school up to the 6th grade, is partnered, and her partner is a farmer and day laborer. They have 4 school-aged children and they are the only people who depend on them economically. She lives with only her partner and children.

Marta has work growing basic grains such as corn and beans for 19 years. She learned this work with her partner and, as she is a very hard-working woman, she decided to help him to get the food for their children. In addition to working their own crops, she also washes clothing for others, with which she brings the daily sustenance to her family. To get to her crops and work them, she has to walk some 2.5 kilometers from her house and her children and partner help in this work. Her work day begins at 6:00 in the morning to end at 3:00 in the afternoon.

She needs this loan to purchase manure and pesticides for her crops of corn and beans, this will help her to maintain her income because the year was difficult with the drought. It will also help her to keep grains for her family's consumption.

Marta wants to be able to continue cultivating the land she has rented and, with this, be able to assure the food and income for her family, improving their quality of life a little, helping her children to continue studying. This desire will be achieved with the loan that will be granted since she will be able to have more basic grains to sell.
