A loan helped to buy piglets to fatten and resell.

Vandoeun Group's story

Vandoeun is 41 years old, a married rice farmer with three children. Pictured first from the right, she has cultivated rice since 1995. Her husband is 42, a rice farmer as well. One of her children is a factory worker, while the other two are students. They all live in a village in the Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. Together, they can earn approximately $6 a day. Vandoeun, a group leader, would like to request a loan as part of a group of six members; she will use her portion to buy piglets to fatten and resell. This will enable her to earn more income to support her family. In the future, Vandoeun plans to buy more pigs to fatten, renovate her house and help her children to earn higher education.
