Leon, León, Nicaragua / Agriculture

Panales No 2 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy and sell live pigs.

Panales No 2 Group's story

The "Panales No 2" communal bank has nine members, all single mothers, with ten children in their care between them. The members are from Sauce, a dairy-producing area. The members want to move forward.

The group coordinator is Luz Marina. She makes a living buying and selling live pigs. Her business is located in her home, and she spends eight hours per day at her work. Luz Marina takes orders from regular and one-off customers who work slaughtering the pigs to produce local dishes such as "nacatamal", marinated pork, fried pork, "charrasca" and more.

This loan will be used to buy working capital and stock up her business so that, in the near future, she can earn a higher income.

The "Panales No 2" communal bank is grateful for Kiva investors helping people in poor countries like Nicaragua to have the opportunity to have a decent job.
