Genc's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for certification of ownership of his little house, that is built in an old warehouse, that under the communist era was property of local government.

Genc's story

Genc is 47 years old and is a member of the vulnerable ethnic Egyptian Albanian community. He is a married father of five, ranging in age from 5 to 22 years, with the youngest being born completely blind and a 12-year-old daughter born with severe autism. During these past 25 years, Genc has been practicing welding and painting as a source of living.

He is photographed in front of his house where he has been running his activity. This house that he's trying to legalize now, and for which he needs this money, used to be a warehouse that was under the local government administration during the communist era. However, in the recent years, the government allowed the vulnerable families to settle in such buildings, providing the shelter for free. All in all, these families have to pay for the certification of ownership and build their little homes inside.

Genc's monthly income from his activity is roughly $250, while the expenses of his activity are $1000 a year; $59 a month is the social assistance for the family and $166 a month is the disability income including the care giving.
