Bukit Zion Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase fertilizer.

Bukit Zion Group's story

Sarlota, 46, whose hand is raised up, is a member of Bukit Zion Group, where the members guarantee each other for a loan. Sarlota is married to Martinus, a 55-year-old farmer, and blessed with three children, namely Serly, 20, who has graduated from high school, and twins Aldo and Aldi, 11, who are in the fifth grade of elementary school.

Physically, Sarlota looks fragile, but actually she is very tough and enjoys working on the farm. She helps Martinus grow different kinds of vegetables, cassava, capsicum, banana, papaya, tomato, sugarcane, etc.

Sarlota and Martinus usually start working at 6 a.m. It takes 1 km from their residence. At harvest time, Sarlota sells their produce at the market three times a week. Sarlota is involved in the business to earn more income.

Sarlota and her husband plan to buy more fertilizer to be used when planting. Sarlota said she is challenged by limited capital when it comes to expanding her crops.

When the group loan product from TLM was explained to her, she then encouraged four more women to form the Bukit Zion Group and requested a loan totaling IDR 12,500,000 from Kiva through TLM.
