Santa Lucia Group's story

The women who make up this group created the association with the intention of helping each other. What's more, they consider being part of the group a very important opportunity that makes it possible for them to continue helping their families.

Asela, a member of the group, makes her living by making a large quantity of hammock blankets and artisan corsets. In this manner, she strives to improve her quality of life, earning her income and covering household expenses, adding to what her husband earns. Asela mentioned that since she became part of the original committee of seven, she has had a strong desire to work and generate earnings through her own efforts.

Asela is requesting her loan to purchase thread, cloth, needles, and various other inputs in order to continue making her artisan crafts and, in this manner, to keep on aiding her family.
