Jorge Ubaldo's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fungicides and organic fertilizer to avoid losing his crop.

Jorge Ubaldo's story

Ubaldo Almeida is 55 years old and lives with his wife and children in a small town called Cahuasqui in northern Ecuador. He works as a day laborer on the family's lands. Because of the economic difficulties that they have endured, he and his wife saw that they needed to plant passion fruit to earn a better income so they can cover their household expenses and school fees for their children. This has been a difficult year as the drought has forced them to invest more money in their crop, but they don't have enough money at this time. That is why they need a small loan to buy fungicides and organic fertilizer.

Ubaldo would be very grateful for Kiva's help to properly maintain his crop and avoid losing it.
