A loan helped to cover the costs of higher education.

Darleni Michelle's story

Darleni is a medical student. She is seeking a loan to be able to cover her educational expenses. This is her story: "My name is Darleni, I was born in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros and grew up in Conuco Salcedo where I still live with my parents and three siblings. I'm single and have no children. My mother is a school teacher on a very low salary. My father is a private chauffeur, also on a very low salary. "I want to study Medicine at the Nordestana University in S.F.M [San Francisco de Macorís]. I chose this degree course as I want to contribute to society, help those in need and put into practise the gift that God has given me. Among my academic goals is to graduate with everything well learned and with high grades. My personal goal is to take good advantage of my career, dedicating myself to it with love, and giving the best attention to my patients. Later I would like to specialise in anaesthesiology. "This loan would be very important, as it will allow me to cover the costs of my course, given that my family doesn't have the income to do so. If I don't receive the loan, I would be disappointed, given that this is the only means of self-improvement which we have, as people with scarce resources, to achieve our goals. This loan will change my life in a positive way and I will dedicate myself body and soul to my degree."
