Mua Family Self Help Group's story

The person raising his hand in the photo is Onesmus, a member of Mua Family Self Help Group. He is 47 years old, married and the father of five children, one of whom is the young boy appearing in the photo. He joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in 2014 to benefit from the training in enterprise development and financial management.

He does vegetable and dairy farming. He is borrowing a Kiva loan to purchase fertilizer, pesticides and dairy feed that will consequently boost his farm yield, thus providing more income, which will enable him to provide food and better healthcare for his family, and also pay school fees for his children.

He is grateful to Kiva and its lenders for the support and promises to pay promptly.
