A loan helped to buy clothes and bags to be sold in her boutique.

Asten Group's story

Asten is a group that composed of 5 business women. One of the members is Johana, a 38 year old woman, mother of 4 children. Johana (standing in the left side wearing a white blouse with colors strips in the picture) runs a business of selling clothes at home in order to support her husband, Joni, 48, civil servant in fulfilling the family needs. She has been running that business since 2009 and started the business by selling a small number of clothes just before Christmas or Eid (Islamic holiday) season.

At the moment, Johana is able to sell clothes, bags and various woman accessories in her small boutique that is placed in the front of her house. She gives conveniences to her regular customer to pay the bags or clothes by 2 or 3 times installments. Last Christmas, many of her things in the boutique were sold out and until this month not all have been paid for. The situation leads her to looking for an additional capital to order new clothes and bags again.

That is why she is agrees when her neighbors comes and asking her willingness to forms a group then applies a group loan totaling of IDR 15.000.000 to TLM. Johana utilizes her loan portion as the additional capital to buy clothes and bags to be sold in her boutique. The other members as Nofita, Sutiyem, Yusri and Arantji that have their own business and will use their portion for their business too.
