Nanci's story

Nanci is a divorced woman who lives in the Recinto Primero de Mayo, in the northwest of Quito, near Los Bancos. She comes from a humble family and is seeking to get ahead. Nanci has two daughters who help her with domestic chores while pursuing their studies. Some months ago, she had to assume leadership of the household because her husband decided to abandon them. But Nanci didn't allow herself to be defeated. She knew that for her and her daughters, she would have to struggle, continuing to work in a nearby inn as a cook. Thanks to this source of income, she has been able to advance her daughters, but she must save money in order to cover household necessities.

Nanci is well known in the sector as very hard-working and responsible. She wishes to pursue her own business, selling all types of shoes and clothing to the people of the area and nearby localities. At present, she can count on her own vehicle for this activity. Nanci knows where to purchase merchandise, since she was dedicated to this type of business for some time in the past. But Nanci had to abandon it for a time when her husband abandoned them. People from the sector have already ordered various items, since she sells goods at very good prices. Her daughters also help in promoting and selling the merchandise.

Nanci is grateful to Kiva for offering this opportunity to fulfill her dream, enabling her to help her daughters towards a better future.
