Sabouynouma Group's story
In the photo, Youssouf is the man standing in front of the group and showing the bull. He was born in Mali in 1981, and this is where he still lives with his wives and his nine children ranging from ages 2 to 12. Five of Youssouf's children are boys. One of his wives covers her own needs by working as a sheep breeder. Youssouf is illiterate but, thanks to his cattle breeding business, he manages to cover his family's various expenses. He buys cattle and fattens his animals up before reselling them at various markets. This is Youssouf's second loan with the RMCR. He wants to buy two steers (as well as some cattle feed and hay) for fattening and resale. He is expecting to make a provisional profit of 45,000 CFA francs per animal. Thanks to this income, Youssouf will be able to cover his household's expenses. He will also be able to offer better healthcare for his children and will buy them clothes and school supplies. Youssouf's dream is to provide a safe roof for his family in the future.
