Djiguiya Group's story

Drissa, who is very respected and well-known for his courage in everything he does in his town, is a 33-year old farmer who lives in Mali; he is holding on to the rope attached to the cow in the photo. Drissa lives with his wife, who is a housewife, and his three children who range from one to eight years old, one of whom is at school. In the future, he is planning to be able to help his family to have a peaceful life by getting more comfortable accommodation (in terms of hygiene, drinking water and health).

He is turning to RMCR to finance his animal fattening activity which he has been carrying out for the past eight years. The profit of 100,000 to 150,000FCFA which he earns per cycle - that is around 30,000 francs a month - enables him to provide for his needs. His loan is being used to buy animals for fattening (cattle and beef). He gets his supplies in the surrounding markets and sells them in the same markets. Despite the minor difficulties he has in relation to getting supplies and market prices, he enjoys his constant capacity to meet his family's needs with the income from his activity.
