Melva Carmita's story

The Santa Monica Lending Group meets every 15 days in Manta, a city known for its food, the beautiful beaches that are visited year round, and its many beautiful tourist attractions.

Melva, 55, is separated from her husband with whom she has 5 grown children. She has worked hard to get ahead without having to depend on anyone. She is a merchant, selling clothing, catalog shoes, natural products and Yanbal (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and women's accessories). She sells door to door almost every day. This is how she earns her living but also how she entertains herself, since she is alone in her house now and enjoys visiting her customers. She also makes sales out of her home if her customers wish. She has been doing this work for 10 years and it allows her to support herself.

This loan will be used to buy clothing, shoes, and all of the products that she sells. She has been with the lending group since the beginning and likes it because they have always given her loans. Her dream is to continue moving forward and to enjoy good health.
