A loan helped to increase her stock of household goods for sale.

Mupinga Group's story

Shilla has taken a loan of $500 to restock in bulk, as she has managed to get orders from local stores, small tuck shops, churches, individuals and clubs for carpets and plastic chairs.

Shilla has embraced a chance to make her business a success. One of the fast moving products that Shilla sells is mineral water. She sells cases of mineral water to individuals, vendors, shops etc.

Mupinga is a Shona word that can be translated and equated to a person who works hard to make ends meet. She sells drinks, beer, mineral water, plastic chairs and carpets among other goods. After her husband passed away, she managed to provide for her child all alone. She has made sure that her child is well catered for in terms of food, fees and clothing. She is even paying expensive tertiary fees without any assistance from anyone. In future she wants to open a proper shop to sell her wares.
