Federation Des Associations De Femmes De Maissade's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy peanuts in bulk to produce peanut butter.

Federation Des Associations De Femmes De Maissade's story

Marilia created a rural association in 1998 in the centre department of Haiti. Her network grew up quickly and reached 3,000 employees, which promoted her as the entrepreneur of year for a national contest.

Marilia's association is specialized in food processing. She sells peanut butter, jelly and jam, among other typical products, in all large supermarkets in Haiti. Thanks to her first loan, she generated profit and she offered breakfast for students in 51 rural schools.

This year, Marilia is facing a new problem. The drought that hit Haiti diminished her peanut supplies. She must have more funds to store peanuts in the winter harvest to be able to process them for supermarkets. That is the main reason for which Marilia is looking for a new loan.

Through this loan period, Marilia will create at least 10 jobs for women who will handpick quality peanut and/or work in the processing.
