Benkadi Group's story
The group members are on their third solidarity loan with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso. They requested a loan to satisfy the needs of their customers, who are becoming more and more numerous and demanding. The group members do a diversity of work, including selling children's clothing, soap, and incense. With this loan, they intend to buy fifty packages of children's clothing, fifty boxes of soap, forty bottles of perfume, and some seeds for making incense. Supplies are gotten at the grand marketplace of the city of Sikasso and in Burkina Faso, a country bordering Mali. The merchandise is sold to customers composed of men and women mostly in cash transaction at the grand marketplace of Sikasso City and often by going door-to-door.
The group members each envision realizing an average monthly profit of 25,000 francs CFA. A portion of the profits will be used for family needs, and the other portion will be invested in business.
