Fatima's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy an electric oven and foodstuff to increase her production and to buy new furniture.

Fatima's story

Fatima is a 46-year-old married mother of two. Seven years ago, she started preparing and selling food from her house to help her husband in covering the increasing needs and expenses of their family.

She prepares "Manakish" which is a dough topped with thyme/ cheese/ ground meat, Pizza, "Fatayer" which is a pie that can be stuffed with meat/ cheese/ spinach, and "Samoosa" which is a fried or baked pastry with a savory filling such as minced meat/Cheese/ thyme/ etc... She also prepares grape leaves stuffed with rice and ground beef, and "Mansaf" which is lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice. Fatima is well known locally for her tasty and delicious cooking.

Today, she is acquiring a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua to buy an electric oven and foodstuff to increase her production and better satisfy her customers' requests. She also wants to buy new furniture for her house to make it a decent living place for her family.

Fatima hopes to keep on expanding her business more in the future to increase her income and stay capable of providing her family with decent living conditions.
