Water Positive Impact Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to set up an irrigation channel to cotton and grain fields.

Water Positive Impact Group's story

Nuraddin (with spade in hand) is a leader of the group. He is married with four children. He loves them and wants to see them be educated adults in the future. Nuraddin knows his neighbors (in the picture), Dayanat and Namazali, from their childhood. He knows them as very hard-working and vigorous young men.

Nuraddin is a veterinarian and keeps cows and sheep for his own needs. His primary business since childhood has been growing cotton and grain. Cotton and grain are very popular among farmers, and cultivating them requires a lot of water.

The village they live in is located in the southern part of Azerbaijan and has a very dry climate. Water channels do not exist. Irrigating fields is very difficult and, due to water shortages, producing more crops every year is impossible. Nuraddin complains that it is very hard and expensive to spend so much money on water. He, with the other group members, was very excited to have this opportunity.

Namazali`s group would like to apply for a loan of 25 000 AZN with the help of the Kiva Community Impact Loan program. This loan will change their lives in a positive way because they will have direct access to water. Instead of spending money to bring water in, they will be able to grow more cotton and grain.
