Binodini's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay the fees of her daughter's banking course.

Binodini's Group's story

Binodini is a divorcee standing to the extreme right-hand side of the photograph. She lives with her two grown-up daughters; the elder daughter is engaged in a tailoring business in order to supplement the family's income. Binodini is a resident of a small village in Cuttack district of Odisha, India.

To break the patriarchal mindset of the society and make herself financially independent, Binodini sells homemade pickles, jellies and papads from home to the dealers and wholesalers in the market to earn her living and save a certain amount of money so that she can make her daughters married in a reputed house. Her younger daughter, being an ambitious girl and a bright student with strong intellect, is currently enrolled in a banking course. However, inadequate capital to pay the fees of her course is a big hurdle in her way.

Therefore, Binodini, along with her other group members, is requesting a loan amount of 45,000 INR from Kiva's partner Peoples Forum. She will use her portion of the loan amount to pay the fees of her daughter's banking course. Successful payment of the course fees will help Binodini's daughter to complete the course smoothly and someday become an efficient banker in a leading bank and uplift the country's economy.

Binodini is eagerly awaiting your kind help and generous support.
