Superb Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to increase the number of her chickens sold per batch.

Superb Group's story

Mazano is a 50-year-old woman, married and blessed with 6 children. She has 3 boys and 3 girls. She is glad that she is married to a wonderful supportive husband who backs her in her business endeavors. She has a home-based gate-side groceries stall and also rears poultry. Her first business was the grocery business which she started 5 years ago. After coming to Thrive and strengthening her business with her first loan, she then used her second loan from Thrive to start a chicken business. She is very grateful for the support from Kiva lenders.

Mazano is a member of Superb from Rugare. The group currently consists of three ladies and they have applied for their 3rd loan. The ladies reside in Rugare and Nelly runs a thriving preschool business while the other lady Bibi is a seasoned cross border. They testify that their businesses have grown since their interaction with Thrive. Nelly’s preschool now has a junior school with grade 1 and grade 2 classes, and Bibi crosses the border more frequently to get supplies.

Even at home, their standard of living has improved. She has managed to buy some new furniture items and the family has no school fees debts any more as the children’s fees are paid on time. Her husband is currently unemployed. He is retired doing odd jobs here and there. Mazano’s business has therefore been a life saver for the family. With her third loan, she is planning to increase the number of her chickens per batch. She feels that the more chickens she has, the more her income levels will increase.
