A loan helped to buy materials such as thread, sequins and pearls in large quantities for her embroidery work.

Azmat's story

Azmat, 41, is a vigorous married woman with three children. She knows the art of making beautiful hand-stitched embroidery patterns with beads and pearls, and she has stitched and sold her pieces for many years. Azmat’s embroidery patterns are very popular, and client demand is strong. She is zealous about her work and is the best earning resource in her household.

But the cost of business combined with family expenditures frustrates Azmat nearly every day. Her husband does not earn enough alone to support the family well. She wants to grow her business so she has applied for a loan of 50,000 PKR through Kiva's field partner Kashf to buy materials such as thread, sequins and pearls in large quantities to meet the increasing demand consistently.
