Flor Kantuta Group's story

The "Flor Kantuta" group will begin its seventh cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Central Focus of Pan-America. It is comprised of eight members and is led by a board of directors where Lucha is the president. The businesses that the members of this group carry out are varied, among them exist: selling clothes, selling chicken, selling blankets, a neighborhood store, selling perfumes, selling athletic clothes, selling local food, construction services, selling toys, and selling slips.

The loan that they will take out will benefit small microbusinesses where Lucha is a member. She indicates that it has been three years since she fell in with Pro Mujer, joining at the invitation of a massive advertisement that the institution carried out in the area. Currently she has a business selling clothes (wool sweaters,) a business that she learned from her parents years ago.

The loan that she will take out now is to increase her capital (to buy clothing wholesale) that she will purchase from wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz. Later she will sell them in her selling space. This manner of work allows her to generate resources to support her family economically, since she is married and has three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the trainings and the health area that the institution offers.
