A loan helped to cancel a current debt and continue her studies in fashion design.

Odaly Desiree's story

Odaly is a young student in SENATI who lives together with her family in one of the poorest areas of Lima. She is a single mother, she has a daughter, and lives with her mother and her grandfather.
She decided to study for a degree in fashion design, a study that she has liked a lot since she was young, and is one of her passions. She has currently been studying for one year of the degree, and there are two more left to finish. She is doing well in her studies. She has classes almost during the whole day, dedicating 20 weekly hours between theoretical and practical classes. She always finds something new to learn day to day, which makes her more passionate about her career.
She feels that her degree will allow her to make her dreams come true, being able to help her daughter get ahead, as well as her family, who support her taking care of her daughter so she does not have to stop studying, in spite of the difficulties. She would like to work in dressmaking workshops to learn more each time, and then later to start her own.
Her dreams are to give a better quality of life to her family (daughter, mother, and grandfather) because they deserve it for the great support that they bring her. She also dreams of being a great fashion designer.
She is turning to the help of Kiva because the economic situation she is going through is very critical. Her mother and grandfather do not have a fixed income, because they have to take care of her baby, which puts her being able to continue her studies at risk.
For this support that is being given to her, Odaly wants to share some lines to Kiva lenders: "I feel very happy because I see that there are still good people that trust in people like me, who is eager to work hard and reach my goals. Thank you very much, I will be eternally grateful to you."
