Virgen De Lourdes (Charapoto) Group's story

In the city of Charapoto, the "Virgen De Lourdes" loan group gets together every fortnight. It is a group of 2 men and 11 women who decided to get together and form this group with which they have improved their quality of life. This place is known for its traditional culture and for being just minutes away from two of the best beaches in the province, San Jacinto and San Clemente.

One of the members of this group is Carmen. She is 38-years old and the single mother of a 17-year old daughter who is studying in high school. They live in her parent's house. Carmen is a very determined woman who likes to fend for herself and get her own income thanks to a family business that her family has. They have a grocery store which is currently in their home, but they are about to get a shop in the center of the city where they can sell all types of products. Their new shop is bigger and, with the help of the loans, they hope to also sell bazaar and paper products.

They have had the business for more than 3 years and have always provided the best care which is the way that they gain their customers. This loan will be used to invest into buying grocery supplies to stock their store. She has been in the loan group since the beginning and she likes it for the help that she receives from the loans. Her dream is to keep growing her business.
