A loan helped to help her son fix his lathe and purchase cutting tools.

Maqsooda's story

Maqsooda is a 56-year-old mother of seven children living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her son is a turner by profession. He works with a lathe and manufactures and repairs spare parts of vehicles such as motorbikes, motor cars, and auto rickshaws. He repairs the interior parts of vehicle engines, including turbines and radiators. He has been doing this work for many years and up to now his business has been very steady. Due to continuously working with the lathe, some important parts have been breaking off and urgently need to be replaced. Without the replacement of parts, it affects the whole mechanism of the lathe. Maqsooda's son is a poor person and does not have sufficient cash in hand to buy spare parts to fix his lathe or buy cutting tools. Therefore, she has requested a loan for her son so that he can fix the lathe and buy cutting tools. Maqsooda hopes that this loan will prove productive for her son's business as well as for her family.
